Yes, as secure and private as possible. The 7x7 Planner is built and maintained by real people who really care. It was created using Base44's platform (https://www.base44.com), which provides extensive security filtering and safeguards throughout the development process. Security and user protection have been a priority from day one for Base44 and their systems help ensure a safe experience for everyone using the app.
We made a conscious decision to not distribute our app through Google Play or the Apple App Store. We wanted to avoid the advertising ecosystems, targeted marketing practices, and monetization models that come with the large corporate marketplaces. We didn't like the rules, so we opted out of the game.
Because the 7x7 Planner is a PWA (progressive web app), there is no local installation required to use it. However, you can, if you like, create a shortcut icon to the app by tapping on the Install button if one is prompted for you. If not you can create the same shortcut by using the Add to Home Screen or Install functions on your browser menu - depending on your browser and your device. Adding the shortcut gives you a local app-like experience that many Users prefer.
In some respects, yes, there is some overlap especially when it comes to calendar items and tasks. However the 7x7 Planner is not out to compete with the digital big-boxes. We designed the 7x7 Planner to work with, not in place of, other calendar and organizational tools you may use. It's all about you - your preferences, your style, your journey.
A Project layer that allows you to associate tasks, calendar items and expenses with each other and with a particular larger-scale organized effort - giving you a big picture view of where you are in the process. If you are engaged in a 12-step recovery program, making a Project out of each step is a fantastic way to keep track of where you are in your progress and can help make meetings with your sponsor more effective.
Interconnectedness between the seven individual modules allows you to easily navigate from one to another without losing your train of thought. The seven modules are: Calendar; Tasks; Daily Notes, Reading & Watching, Projects, Money and Wellness. Specific recovery related content is under the "steps" icon and is hidden by default, as is the Journal content. Click the icons to unhide the content.
A degree of fun can be had with the Premium content: customizable digital "stickers," color themes and a digital Vision Board page. Feeling down? Change the sticker on your Today page and then pull up your Vision Board for some encouragement.
You control what categories of calendar items and tasks are visible on your screen at any given moment. That means you can use the 7x7 Planner with confidence in public to take notes, at your job, whenever someone else might be able to view your screen. You get to make whole categories of things disappear and reappear at will with the click of a button - not out of shame, but out of respect for your privacy.
